


Our Therapeutic Photography group is a youth occupation based group for 13-18 year olds where we explore topics such as emotions and identity through creative means, working to build our self-esteem and resilience. This group takes place over 6 weeks of therapeutic sessions in our beautiful woodland space.
To take part in this group you do not need to have skills in photography!

We have received funding from Norfolk Community Foundation to run groups in 2025 for young people who would benefit from support exploring their emotions and identity to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
The next groups are:
REFERRALS ARE NOW CLOSED
For young people who identify as LGBTQ+ and will take place on the following dates –
Thursdays 10am – 11.30pm
- October 16th, 23rd, 30th and November 6th, 13th
- and an exhibition on Thursday 27th November 11am – 12pm
Open to all group will take place on the following dates –
Fridays 1.30pm – 3.00pm
- October 17th, 24th, 31st and November 7th, 14th
- and an exhibition on Friday 28th November 2 -3pm
Referral Criteria
- Aged 13-18
- For the group starting 18th September identify as a LGBTQ+ young person
- Experiencing challenges impacting their mental health
- Would like to explore emotions and identity through photography
- Living in a rurally isolated place or experiencing deprivation where their mental health is impacted
Aims of the group
- To give young people the opportunity to engage in meaningful and enjoyable occupational photography
- To explore topics of emotions, values, and changes in identity
- To enhance self-esteem, self-efficacy, and resilience
- To increase young people’s social participation in the community
- To address social isolation and manage anxiety around social situations
- To facilitate young people to set goals around areas of change they would like to implement
- To support young people to develop effective communication/social skills in a group
Who are the facilitators?

Amber Watson
Amber is an Occupational Therapist and Sensory Integration Practitioner. She has worked in a variety of mental health services supporting adults and young people. She loves scuba diving, crochet, roller skating, and animals.

Asim Krdzalic
Asim is our Youth Worker, who has extensive experience of working with children and young people.
Where are the sessions held?
The sessions take place at the Cup-O-T therapeutic woodland space.
Location: Forest School for Life, Silfield St, Silfield, Wymondham, NR18 9NL. Please meet us at the Cup-O-T meeting point sign in the carpark.
How to refer
Referrals are currently open for our next group which starts on the 27th February 2025.
We accept referrals from parents or carers, healthcare professionals (with parental consent), schools (with parental consent), and facilitators of youth or social groups who know the young person well (with parental consent). Individuals who are aged 16+ are also able to self-refer.
Please note that submitting a referral does not guarantee a space in the therapy group.

What to bring
Please wear comfortable and weather appropriate outdoor clothing. Appropriate footwear (trainers or boots/wellies in wet weather) will be required. You may need a waterproof jacket if the weather is looking wet. We will have some shelter available.
You will need access to a smart phone with a camera OR a digital camera. If you do not have access to either of these please contact us and we will arrange for a digital camera to be available to borrow for the duration of the course.
