About Us

Cup-O-T: Wellness and Therapy Services CIC is a non-profit organisation. This means that all our surplus profit is used to provide therapy and community projects to those who otherwise would not receive mental health support.

Our social purpose is to provide benefit to:

  • the community, by providing Occupational Therapy, psychological therapy and mental health interventions to young people and adults who would otherwise encounter barriers to access to support
  • young people and adults by providing training and development opportunities to professionals and people with lived experience, to improve the mental health support received universally.

We provide a number of services for individuals, groups and organisations. Our work is funded privately, by organisations and schools and through, donations, grants and tenders.

Our Cup-O-T story:

Founded in December 2017 by Catherine Gray, Occupational Therapist and CEO with lived experience of accessing mental health services when she was a teenager.

We started with a therapy van: In November 2018 we purchased a Ford Transit van, over 7 months we transformed it into a calming therapy space.  The Cup-O-T therapy van was used for therapy appointments, as a base for groups or to run workshops from at events.
In 2024 we retired the therapy van, a hard decision but now we have other beautiful spaces to work from.

The therapy woodland: Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic we were unable to use the therapy van as a space for appointments due to social distancing. Instead we used it as a base and held appointments outdoors, in nature reserves, community spaces and woodlands. As social distancing lifted our young people and families requested that this continues. So the quest to find a woodland space began! In 2022 after a wonderful Crowdfunder and planning permission secured we began to run therapy services from there.

In 2023 we were chosen at The People’s Project by the National Lottery and ITV, following a public vote we were awarded £70,000. This has enabled us to set up our Cup-O-T Campfire Community. We are now able to provide therapy sessions, group and community workshops in this space with our beautiful shelter and therapy cabin.

Therapy room and office: In 2024 we moved into our office space above the wonderful Kett’s Books in Wymondham. It’s a great space for the team to work from, and we also have a therapy room that has been decorated to reflect our woodland space. Visiting is by appointment only.
