Therapy

Individual Therapy

Supporting young people thrive through personalised therapy

Every young person is different. That’s why we begin with an initial assessment to understand their strengths, challenges and goals before recommending the most appropriate therapeutic approach.

Our therapists work with children and young people aged 7–25, providing compassionate, evidence-informed support tailored to each individual.

You don’t need a diagnosis or referral to access our self-funded therapy. We welcome young people with or without a formal diagnosis and will work with you to understand your needs through our assessment process.

Following the assessment, we will discuss our recommendations and agree a therapy plan together.

The therapy recommended may include Occupational Therapy, EMDR Therapy or a combination of approaches.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy helps young people develop the skills, confidence and strategies they need to participate in everyday life.

Sessions may focus on areas such as:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Interoception and body awareness
  • Anxiety and confidence
  • Executive functioning
  • Sensory processing
  • School participation
  • Building independence
  • Identity, wellbeing and meaningful occupations

Your therapy will always be overseen by a registered Occupational Therapist. Depending on your goals, some intervention sessions may be delivered by an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant working under the direction and supervision of your Occupational Therapist. This enables us to provide high-quality, personalised support while making therapy as accessible and sustainable as possible.

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an evidence-based therapy that helps people process difficult or traumatic experiences.

EMDR can support young people experiencing:

  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Anxiety
  • Phobias
  • Panic attacks
  • Grief and loss
  • Low self-esteem
  • Distressing memories

Our EMDR therapists are fully trained to work with both children and adults, adapting therapy to each young person’s age, needs and goals.

**Home visits: Where agreed as part of an individual’s therapy, a £30 home visit fee will apply in addition to the therapy session fee. Mileage will be charged at 55p per mile for the round trip from our Wymondham office base to the client’s home. Any parking or other unavoidable travel costs will also be charged at cost.

Ways to Access Therapy

We believe that every young person should be able to access the right support at the right time. There are several ways to access our therapy services.

Self-Funded Therapy

Families can choose to self-fund therapy when they would like to access support without waiting for a funded space or where funding is not available.

Self-funded therapy takes place in our welcoming therapy room in Wymondham or, where appropriate, at our beautiful therapy woodland space, providing a unique outdoor environment for therapeutic intervention.

Following an initial assessment, we’ll recommend the most appropriate therapeutic approach and work with you to develop a personalised therapy plan.

Home visits may be available on request for Occupational Therapy sessions, subject to a risk assessment and suitability.

Commissioned Therapy

We also work with schools, local authorities, charities, healthcare providers and other organisations to deliver commissioned therapy for children and young people.

Commissioned services can be delivered across Norfolk and Suffolk, either within educational settings, community venues or other agreed locations, depending on the needs of the young person and the commissioning organisation.

Whether you are looking to commission support for an individual, a group of young people or a wider therapeutic programme, we’d be happy to discuss how we can work with you.

If you’re interested in commissioning our services, please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
