Farewell to the Therapy Van: End of An Era and a Warm Welcome to New Beginnings!

Well, it’s the end of an era here at Cup-O-T: Wellness and Therapy Services. Our beloved therapy van, which has been a trusted companion on so many journeys, is finally being retired. While it’s a bit of a bittersweet moment, we’re also thrilled to be moving forward with exciting new spaces that will help us support even more young people and families in our community.

A Journey Like No Other

For those of you who’ve been with us from the start, you’ll know that our therapy van has been more than just a vehicle. It’s been a safe space, a mobile sanctuary, and accessible therapy room for so many. Whether parked in a school car park, outside a community centre, or nestled in a quiet corner of a park, the therapy van has provided a welcoming environment where young people could open up, explore their feelings, and receive the support they needed, right where they were.

The van has been with us through rain and shine (literally!). Catherine (CEO) purchased the vehicle in 2018 and finished converting it into the Therapy Van in 2019 with the support and crowdfunding of our community. It’s witnessed tears, laughter, breakthroughs, and so many moments of growth. And while it’s sad to say goodbye, we know that this change is part of our evolution.

A New Chapter at Kett’s Yard

With the retirement of the therapy van comes the exciting news of our new base at Kett’s Yard in Wymondham – above the wonderful Kett’s Books. Our office and therapy room here offer a more permanent, stable environment for our sessions, something we’ve been working towards for a while. This new space is not just an office; it’s a place where we can create deeper connections, build on the trust we’ve established, and continue to grow as a service.

Kett’s Yard allows us to expand our offerings, providing more comprehensive support for young people and families. It’s a welcoming, calming space designed with care, where clients can feel at ease and truly focus on their wellbeing. The sense of warmth and belonging is something that we hope will resonate with everyone who walks through our doors. Our therapy room mirrors our woodland space, with matching furniture and aesthetic.

Embracing Nature with Our Woodland Therapy Space

And it doesn’t stop there! We’re also thrilled to introduce our Woodland Therapy Space in Silfield at The Forest School For Life. This is a dream come true for us—a place where the therapeutic power of nature can be fully harnessed. Following our Crowdfunder back in 2021 we have worked hard to secure a woodland space, and navigated many challenges along the way. but we now have our beautiful shelter, funded by The National Lottery’s Community Fund and therapy cabin funded by The Co-Op. Being in the woods, surrounded by trees and the sounds of nature, offers a completely different dimension to therapy. It’s an environment that fosters mindfulness, encourages creativity, and helps young people reconnect with themselves in a natural setting.

Nature and therapy has always been close to our hearts, and now we have the perfect space to share it with our clients. Whether it’s through group occupational therapy programmes like our Campfire Community Group, creative community workshops, or individual therapy sessions, our woodland therapy space offers endless possibilities for our community.

Growth and Gratitude

As we move into this new chapter, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of our journey so far. To those who have stepped into the therapy van, shared their stories, and trusted us with their wellbeing—thank you. Your courage and openness have shaped who we are as a service.

And to everyone who has supported us along the way, whether by spreading the word, contributing to our crowdfunders, attend our workshops, offering a helping hand, or just cheering us on from the sidelines—thank you. We couldn’t have come this far without you.

Looking Ahead

So, while we say goodbye to the therapy van with a tinge of sadness, we do so with excitement for the future. Our new spaces at Kett’s Yard, Wymondham and the therapy woodland in Sifield are just the beginning of the next phase of Cup-O-T: Wellness and Therapy Services. We’re growing, evolving, and more committed than ever to meeting the needs of young people and families in our area.

We can’t wait to welcome you to our new spaces and continue this journey together. Here’s to new beginnings, growth, and endless possibilities! 🌱
