Day 2 – It’s Not All About Me! #Childrensmentalhealthweek

It’s day 2 of #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek!

Learning to express ourselves is developed even more when we can see how others feel. We can grow our own happiness by understanding and helping others with theirs.

Today we are going to focus on how to GROW our COMPASSION SUPERPOWER!

But what is compassion?!?

Well….the definition of compassion is…. a strong feeling of sympathy and concern for the suffering or bad luck of others and a wish to help them. It can help other people feel much happier if we act with compassion towards them.

All it takes is practice!

Compassion Drops

We know that the best way to grow our superpower of being compassionate is to understand what makes other people sad. Print out this teardrop and write inside it all the BIG and SMALL things that make other people unhappy.

Compassion Coins

Now we have understood what can make other people sad we can now practice how to support them. Did you know by showing compassion for others we make them AND ourselves feel HAPPIER!? It’s good for them AND it’s good for you!

So….print out this treasure chest – or draw your own!

Every time you show compassion colour in one of the compassion coins and stick it onto your treasure chest.
Compassion could vbe:
*When you HELP someone
*When you LISTEN to someone’s troubles
*When you SAY something supportive
*If you VOLUNTEER to do something for someone
*If you DO anything kind for someone
